Pick a path. Be that
I know a dude that is a narcissistic tool bag. But around his church friends he’s a saint. Someone younger men should model their life after.
I pulled him aside and asked him to pick one.
He looked at me with confusion. Whatever did I mean? He liked the way things were. He was receiving the benefits of both worlds. Why shake the status quo?
But how long before that house of cards crumbles? How long before people around him see him for who he really is anyway.
Pick one. And be that.
Stop lying and trying to be all things to all people.
Sure we stumble and make poor choices. But we own them. Not cover them.
So if you’re going to use people to get what you want, you owe them the courtesy of letting choose to be a part of that process.
If you are going to try to walk the straight and narrow, then don’t try to do it alone. And don’t let your pride keep you from acknowledging your imperfections.
Who do you want to be? Pick a path. Be that.
