It’s easy to get stuck in a rut. We know the answers to the things we need to know to get certain tasks done. So we keep our head down and do only what is necessary to get it done.

And the tasks keep us so worn down and out that we don’t have the energy to ask simple questions like: Why do we do it this way? or What if we tried this?.

Sometimes, we ask the question but our internal response is “That won’t work because they’ll say no.” or “Shut up brain, you’re going to cause me more work that I don’t already enjoy doing.”

When was the last time you asked a question that pushed against the status quo, consequences be damned?
